The Travel Professionals of Color Conference & Trade Show was organized in August, 2002 by two minority travel agents in Denver, Co.
The first Conference took place May 14 -18, 2003 in Denver, Co., and was a great success. Because this first Conference was so well received by travel agents and suppliers, Charlotte Haymore and Betty Jones decided to take the conference to the next level. Therefore, in August 2002, Travel Professionals of Color became a Limited Liability Company, Travel Professionals of Color, LLC. The intent of the company is to sponsor conferences and many other positive programs for the minority travel agents with a focus on profitability and raising an awareness within the travel community regarding professional services provided by capable minority travel agents.

Charlotte Haymore is the Owner and Manager of Charlotte's Cruises - N - Tours. Known to the Denver Community as the "Specialty Cruise Diva", Haymore opened the doors of her home-based "Cruise Only" agency in August 1994. For five years, the agency was a part-time hobby job, but in August 1999, Haymore decided to make the hobby a full-time venture and retired from a 22 year career with United Airlines. result of seeing very few people of color in attendance at other travel conferences gaining the important information needed to make them successful. Haymore felt that if a travel conference was developed for minority travel professionals by minority travel professionals that there would be a lot more interest and minority travel professionals would eagerly attend the conference. |
